Why We Love It
Why We Love It
Nooka embodies much of what we care about at Grand St. -- creativity infused into everyday objects and simplicity. We’ve never had this much fun telling time.
The three models offered by Nooka are the coolest and most technologically creative watches we’ve seen in awhile. It’s a totally new take on reading time, and, best of all, it looks really good on your wrist. Like, really good. People will keep asking you about it and how it works...not that it will be hard at all to explain. Plus, you won’t have to keep taking your cell phone out to check the time anymore. That means less time fidgeting with things in your pocket or bag, and more time to be enamored with your amazing Nooka watch.
We are offering three separate Nooka models on Grand St. All of them have Nooka’s classic polyurethane band that sits softly and comfortably on the wrist. To experience Nooka is to know comfort and edgy design in a single object. A watch should be comfortable, after all.
Though the Nooka watches include an alarm and a stop watch, the watch’s primary focus is telling the time, and telling it in an awesome, innovative way.
One of the most interesting and notable parts of any Nooka watch is the WAY they actually tell time. Although initially (and purposely) non-standard, after wearing the watch for a few days you realize their displays in some ways are more intuitive and certain more eye-catching.
The Zub Zen uses three parallel bars to indicate time in the basic measurements of hours, minutes, and seconds. This watch is available is grey/green and ivory. The ivory option has a sweet “blue glow” feature...the watch will light up a soft neon blue at night, an eye-catching effect.
The even more minimal Zub Zibi Zirc cuts out seconds and displays just the minutes, surrounded by 12 black bars which represent the hour. The jet-black band can even be tucked underneath to further a minimal profile.
In keeping with the Nooka philosophy of keeping things simple, what comes in the box is just the watch itself. But you might not want to throw away that box. Nooka boasts that the box itself is made of silicone material and encourages it to be re-used for general storage. This environmentally minded packaging hopes to reduce waste by presenting the watch in a container worth keeping.
