Blink Steady is the perfect combination of design and function. Made
of pristinely-machined solid aluminum and hand-crafted in Brooklyn,
NY, this bike light is for anyone who believes that a perfect bike
light can exist.
Why We Love It
Kickstarted in May 2012, Blink Steady has proven that people believe that there is something missing from traditional bike lights. After an incredibly successful Kickstarter run, Blink Steady is now available on Grand St. It's intelligent, innovative and beautifully designed while still keeping you safe.
"Steve Jobs was obsessed with one-button design. This is no-button design." - Wired
You won't find a single button on the exterior of the Blink Steady. Based off its orientation, it will either provide a pulsing light beam (Blink) or a constant beam (Steady) with an impressive visible beam range of 120 degrees. It has an accelerometer that senses motion (like the one inside your smartphone) so the light only turns on when you're moving and it has a light sensor so it knows to only turn on when it's dark out.
"Why not show [your bike] you love her and, thanks to Blinksteady, put a ring on it." - Tech Crunch
Designed to be permanently attached to your bike, the Blink Steady's thick aluminum enclosure and rubber sealing means it's incredibly durable and waterproof. It utilizes a design that relies on your seatpost lock, making it inherently difficult to steal, and its subtle profile keeps it below the radar of curious eyes.
The Brooklyn based Blink Steady team believes that keeping production as local as possible affords a greater attention to detail. They are right - the Blink Steady is both incredibly simple, intuitive, and extremely well-made.
Why We Love It
Blink Steady delivers on its promise of simplicity and beauty. It is by far the most elegant bike light we've ever tested. It's also one of those products that uses sensors in a very smart and practical way, providing a clutch mix of modern technology and timeless design.
